The growth in popularity of the Grand Long Distance Ézaro in the last few years has been outstanding. The good acceptance from the public, year after year, (participants as well as their relatives and enthusiasts) along with the growing implication from public and private entities that collaborate with the event, enable us to offer a major coverage at all levels making this event, in itself, a great show.

This growth is reflected mainly in the media coverage. In 2016 and 2017 the event was covered by general and specialised sports media (MARCA, AS, Mundo Deportivo, Sport, Deportes Cuatro, El Mundo, La 1…) Moreover, there was a broad report in the state channel Teledeporte, broadcasting up to 12 times each edition, and in prime time, as well as at the end of every report about the Tour de France stages.

Many historical riders have pinned on their race numbers to enjoy the races in A Costa da Morte. Legends such as Miguel Induráin or Claudio Chiapucci, Alex Zülle, Tony Rominger, Josaba Beloki, Ángel Casero, Iván Raña, Óscar Pereiro or the 5 times World Champion Javier Gómez Noya (winner in 2017) who all formed part of this peloton.
