The event
The Gran Fondo Ézaro is a popular cycling race that takes place in the incomparable setting of A Costa da Morte, in Galicia (Spain). An incredible landscape, cultural and patrimonial values of the first order and a spectacular and demanding route make this a unique event.
The target participants of the Gran Fondo Ézaro are a select type of cyclist, given that the characteristics of the event require an adequate physical condition, which implies constant preparation, dedication and effort.
To its demanding route, which ends at the mythical ‘wall’ of the Ézaro Viewpoint, is added the environment, the values promoted by the organization and the name that, with its successes, has earned the event, attracting athletes from all over the world. Spain and beyond our borders and big names in this sport.
Alex Zülle and Tony Rominger revived their fight on the Galician roads of the Costa da Morte, as they had already done in La Vuelta a España in 1993.
Completing the beautiful route through the roads of A Costa da Morte and the climb to Ézaro, which has already been exhibited in the Tour of Spain, is a complete success.
Chiappucci and Indurain meet again at the Gran Fondo Ézaro.
